Intellectual Property & E-commerce
We assist with the protection of intellectual property.
Our practice covers both transactional legal advice, including the preparation of intellectual property based business agreements and contracts, through to resolving disputes and litigating in these specialised areas when necessary.
We also advise on the most appropriate form of protection for IP rights by the use of confidentiality agreements or other firms of licence documents, and in conjunction with our specialist preferred partners we can assist in registering patents and designs and the exploitation of rights.
We have regularly advised on areas such as:
- Data Protection
- Online Training
- Electronic Marketing
- Distant Selling
- Information Disclosure
- Privacy & Cookie Consents
Where intellectual property rights are infringed, we can advise on the best steps to take through the Courts or other appropriate tribunal. That can include claims and disputes in relation to trademarks, copyright and patents, defamation, data protection and breach of confidentiality. We also regularly appear in the civil and commercial courts in cases involving passing off and other types of infringement, and are experienced in obtaining emergency and interim relief.
